The idea behind Chessilliant™
Chessilliant™ was created to solve a common problem in chess learning:
players are often taught what to play, but not how to think about a position.
The result is slower progress, uncertainty in decision-making, and a growing reliance on memorisation.
Chessilliant™ develops a clearer process built around three questions:
what is happening, why it matters, and how to respond.
Rather than trying to remember more moves, the focus is on understanding positions in a way that can be applied consistently across the game.
This leads to:
Seeing positions with structure rather than confusion
Making decisions based on reasoning, not guesswork
Developing skills that apply across all phases of the game
Chessilliant™ is designed as a structured coaching platform focused on developing clear thinking and long-term improvement in chess. The approach was developed by Oliver Kuzmanoski, who leads the design of the coaching method and overall learning structure.
Rather than relying on memorisation-based teaching, the system focuses on helping players understand positions and make confident decisions during real games. As Chessilliant™ grows, coaching is delivered through a consistent method, ensuring that all sessions follow the same structured approach.
All Chessilliant™ coaches are selected based on both their chess understanding and their ability to teach clearly.
Strong chess background (playing experience and/or recognised certifications)
Ability to explain ideas clearly and work with different levels
All coaches working with children are DBS checked
Sessions are conducted in a safe and supervised online environment.
